Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Chacun fait son nid – Nigel Peake (2016) – Violet & Pink

VENDU

A true work of contemporary art to wear. Imagined in 2016 for the House of Hermès by the Irish architect and illustrator Nigel Peake, the "Chacun fait son nid" scarf (Everyone Builds Their Nest) is a fascinating exploration of nature through a geometric, dreamlike prism. The motif illustrates the meticulous construction of a bird's nest. Twigs, leaves, feathers and seeds intertwine in a graphic whirl of extraordinary precision, recalling hatching in fine pen or coloured pencil. On a white ground, the palette showcases vibrant shades of Violet, Plum, Fiery Red and Orange. The title of the scarf is also subtly hidden in capital letters at the heart of this abstract foliage. Rare and sought after by collectors. New condition, with box.

A word from Diane
This scarf moves away from the classic equestrian motifs to offer us a purely Arty interlude. I particularly love the way Nigel Peake treats colour through "hatching", which gives the silk an incredible visual texture. Folded, this scarf reveals blocks of intense colour (the corners being two-tone, violet and red), which will wonderfully liven up a navy coat, a trench coat or a simple white shirt. It is a very luminous piece for lovers of cutting-edge design.

Note: Authenticated piece. The photos show the real item in every detail.
